While looking through forums on another site the other day, I came across an interesting theory. I personally have never really seen the logic as to why cemeteries would be haunted. I would assume that a spirit would either be attached to the location of someplace important in their lives, or something that may be associated with their death. A cemetery is usually neither. However, a person pointed out a possible reason why spirits might reside in cemeteries. If the spirit of the person deceased is Christian, they might believe in the book of Revelations which says that come Judgement Day, God will raise the dead to be judged. If a person believed this strongly, it might give their spirit reason to stay with their physical remains. I'm still not convinced that cemeteries are really haunted, but I'd be game for visiting one sometime to find out...
